Springtime and Parables
Springtime and Holy Week seems like a good time for a blog update. It’s school vacation this week and a whole lot of processions. More about that on a later blog. Spring has arrived to Granada. We can see it in the parks
Buds and blossoms and flowers
New growth. Who doesn’t like Spring? Fresh air, colors, new life breaking out again. It’s a season of hope.
It’s also birthday time for some people. Is he really that old?!
Italian friends came and made pizza. The real stuff!
Earth, water, sky, mountains, plants – a good time and place for a mini-retreat with the One who made it all!
Hiking with the guys never ceases to amaze with some of the incredible views. Fields
Mountains
Gorges
And a little time to eat, rest, and contemplate the next part of the journey. Which way shall we take? We’ve asked ourselves that question more than once!
Hiking often provides life parables. The fact that plants somehow find their way through barren matter to grow and bloom gives hope to believe that life is also coming forth in other ways.
And this olive tree trunk with new shoots coming out somehow brings to mind the “root of Jesse” that came once and was cut down, but nothing can prevent that root from springing up again and bearing fruit.
